Ukhrul, October 27:
A two-day training on Human resource development (HRD) organized by the Buffalo Society, Ukhrul under the sponsorship of DRDA/Ukhrul under Swajal Dhara Project has begun from today at Youth Hostel Ukhrul.
Pankaj Kumar Pal, Deputy Commissioner Ukhrul was the chief guest of the inaugural function.
During the training five resource persons impart the knowledge of Swajal Dhara Water sanitation to the participants which is being an attended by two persons (Headman/chairman village development and secretary) from all the 33 selected villagers from the Ukhrul District.
Implementation of Swajal Dhara water Project is on full swing and the first phase itself shows gratification from the villagers as the project had helped many of its adjoining villages.
The DC Ukhrul under whom the initiative has been made for implementation of the project in Ukhul District for the first time in Manipur has been praised by the villagers attending the training programme.
As a chief guest the DC stated that Swajal Dhara Project will be successful if all the project villages sincerely work and donate the requisite things generously in larger interest of people.
He said that 18 more proposals on the Project are being worked out for the next phase of the programme.
