Imphal, April 25 2009: Two cadres of the proscribed KYKL have been apprehended by troops of 8 AR from different places yesterday.

According to an AR PRO release, one KYKL cadre was apprehended during a search operation in Chakpikarong area.

Further acting on the disclosure of the cadre, another cadre of the same outfit was also pulled up from Singtam area.

The two KYKL cadres identified as M Sujit (24) of Kakching Khunou and T Mani (21) of Umathel have been handed over to Kakching police station, added the release.

On the other hand, Imphal West commandos arrested one PREPAK activist identified as Chandam Sunildro alias Ibomcha (34) s/o Ch Yaima of Khurai Lairikyengbam Leikai from Paona Bazar at about 11.30 am yesterday.

Two live rounds of AK-47 ammunition and two pieces of N-10 tablets were also seized from his possession, informed the SSP Imphal West in a press release.

Further, one PLA sympathiser identified as Papu Thakur (31) s/o Beijnath Thakur of Mouji Bahar but staying at New Checkon was also arrested by Imphal West commandos from Paona Bazar near Pratap Talkies at about 6.30 pm yesterday.

On spot verification, he disclosed that he is collector of PLA Division-II and working under one Ajit of the outfit.

A sum of Rs 1,035 was recovered from his possesion, conveyed SSP Imphal West in another press release.
