Imphal, November 20: Three KYKL cadres have been arrested by security forces during the last 48 hours from different places of Manipur.

In a statement, PRO of Assam Rifles said that troops of 24 Assam Rifles searched a bus at Khudengthabi on the Moreh-Imphal route on November 18 and arrested one KYKL cadre.

The arrested cadre is identified as S/S Sgt Nehsi (32) of Ward number 3, Moreh.

He is involved in arms dealing and tax collection, said the PRO and added that one 9 mm pistol (country made) with four rounds of ammunition with foreign marking have been received from him.

He was handed to Imphal West police today.

In another incident two KYKL cadres were arrested during a joint operation conducted by 32 Assam Rifles and Imphal East police commandos in the general area of Porompat, said the PRO.

The two have been identified as Thiyam Ingocha Singh alias Nandakumar (29) of Naoremthong Khulen Leikai and Thingujam Gopimohan alias Gopen (34) of Naoremthong Khulen Leikai.

They have been handed over to Imphal East police yesterday.
