NSS Unit I of Don Bosco College, Maram yesterday organized a one day NSS Volunteers Orientation programme at the Human Resource Centre of the College.
The programme was participated by 253 NSS volunteers and several other dignitaries.
Dr B Lalhari , State Liaison Officer (SLO) and Dr N Ibotombi, NSS Programme Coordinator, Manipur University were chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Along with them present were Fr Jose Palely, Principal of the College, Vevikananda, Programme Officer and Secretary, Bobo, NSV, Ranjan, Lecturer Don Bosco College and Sr.
Daisy.
In the keynote address, Ranjan said that life is to give service to humanity and to God and stressed on values of an NSS volunteer.
Speaking on the role of NSS volunteers in development of society, Dr Lalhari appreciated Don Bosco College NSS unit for their performance and discipline.
He mentioned that it is one of the best in the State and encouraged them to continue the good service and assured to start another NSS unit in the College.
Dr N Ibotombi addressed the volunteers about the �History of NSS and its scope�, enlightening the young minds on the aim, objectives and meaning of the NSS emblem, and the possibilities and scope of being NSS volunteers.
