Lamka, November 18:
Saying that it has been left with no other option but to extend ongoing economic blockade for another seven days in the light of the State Government's adamant attitude in redressing grievances of tribal people appropriately and reasonably, ATSUM has extended the ongoing economic blockade till November 26 midnight.
A statement issued by ATSUM asserted that tribal people of Manipur can no longer wait for full implementation of the Manipur Reservation of Vacancies in Posts and Services (for SCs and STs) Act 1976.Noting that tribal peoples had waited long enough, ATSUM declared that it would not back off this time until and unless its legitimate demand is satisfactorily addressed.
It also reiterated its appeal to all trucks owners to endure inconveniences and hardships caused by the blockade for seven more days.
