Cinema halls shut down due to UG threat

Imphal, June 15: Due to alleged threat from underground organisation in connection with failure of coughing up the monetary demand served, screening of films in the cinema halls located along Mayai Lambi have stopped with effect from yesterday, a statement issued by the general secretary of the United Cinema Hall Proprietors' Assn said.

The cinema halls which have been shut downed are Samuroulakpa Hall, Machu Cinema (Samurou), JS Cinema (Mayang Imphal), Giten Cinema (mayang Imphal) and Geetarani Cinema (Mayang Imphal).

Meanwhile, the Association has called an emergency general body meeting to discuss some important agenda tomorrow at 10 am at JK Cinema Hall, Singjamei.
