Three lives including that of a woman and her unborn child have been claimed in two separate road related accidents that took place in different parts of Thoubal district yesterday.
In the first incident which took place at Tangjeng Khongnangkhong along Imphal-Moreh Road at around 2.57 pm, Yumnam Ongbi Sonia Devi (24) w/o Ibomcha was killed along with her unborn child when the Gypsy vehicle in which she was being taken for delivery at RIMS Hospital fell into a drain.
The woman and her unborn child were declared brought death by the doctors at RIMS.
The family members complained that immediately after the mishap, they have taken the victim to the Kakching Rural Hospital.
However, there were no doctors there.
In the second mishap which occurred at around 5 pm yesterday, a 27-year old mother met her end when the bus in which she was returning lost control at Thoubal Haokha along Imphal-Moreh Road.
The deceased woman identified as Naorem Ongbi Nanaobi Devi (27) w/o Bungcha of Kakwa Naorem Leikai was returning after visiting her son who is staying in the boarding of a school at Khongjom when the unfortunate mishap occured.
