Resignation rocks Ukhrul BCC

Imphal, January 15: Strongly reacting to the non-conferment of the party's ticket to AS Arthur for the coming election in Ukhrul AC, more than 8000 primary members of the Ukhrul Block Congress Committee have resigned from the party.

A written submission to this effect has also been submitted to the president of the MPCC (I), Gaikhangam.

Decrying the decision of the Congress leadership not to award the party's ticket to AS Arthur, the submission said that the Executive Members of Ukhrul BCC, delegate members DCC, Youth Congress Ukhrul Block, active members and more than 8000 primary members have lost complete faith in the integrity and sincerity of the MPCC (I) and the State Election Committee.

The members have resigned to show their solidarity to AS Arthur, it said.
