DCT demands BSF withdrawal

Imphal, November 14 2008: Noting that posting of BSF at the Oinamlong PHC has been causing various inconveniences and difficulties in the activities of the PHC as well as to the people, the District Level Development Co-ordinating Team (DCT) Federation, Tamenglong district has demanded removal of BSF from the PHC.

After prolonged negligence by the Government, people are reluctant to go the PHC for their medical problems after BSF personnel have been posted there, conveyed the DCT in a press release.

Except for a single nurse, there is no doctor and staff in the PHC, the DCT questioned the Government's lack of attention towards the people of the sub-division.

Demanding immediate withdrawal of the BSF and posting of requisite doctor and staff in the PHC, the DCT cautioned that the Government should bear responsibility for any untoward incident when it launches various forms of agitation in the event of the Government's failure to address its demands.
