Founder president of BJP state unit passes away

Imphal, March 09, 2010: The founder president of BJP, Manipur Pradesh, Laimayum Ragumani Sharma who went to participate at a two day programme organised by RSS at Silcher of Assam died of his illness there on Monday.

He was 74. Leaders and workers of the state BJP paid homage and floral tribute to the departed leader of the party at the party office at Keishampat today before the last rites was performed at his native, Nagamapal.

Before the last respect was paid to the deceased, a condolence meeting was held at the party office in which leaders of the party like the Chandra Sekhar Rao, organisational secretary (NE in-charge), state president Sh Shantikumar, former president M Bhorot and Dr H Borbabu attended among others.

Speakers at the condolence meeting recalled works of the late leader of the party in the effort to strengthen the party unit in the state.

They also recalled advises given to its workers.

Ragumani contested Assembly election for two times in Uripok Assembly Constituency but loss in all the elections.

The BJP, Uripok Mandal has also expressed shock on the untimely demises of the founder president.

They also shared to the sorrow of the bereaved family.
