A pulse polio immunisation camp was organised by 48 Bn CRPF at Kaimai in Tamenglong district on January 7.To reach out to the far flung and remote areas, a mobile camp was also organised in which villages upto 10-12 kms like Oinamlong, Tollen, Motbung, etc were covered.
There was a huge publicity given with the assistance of villagers and locals of the neighbouring villages attended the camp.
Even public commuting in buses, vehicles on NH-53 were stopped and infants and children were administered Pulse polio drops.
Sweets were also distributed to all the children at the occasion.
As usual, Rotary Club of Imphal also participated in the Pulse Polio National Immunisation Day observance by arranging its transit team to administer door to door pulse polio drops to children below the age group of five years in Thangal Bazar and Paona Bazar areas including Khoyathong and Khakhulong areas between 9 am to 3 pm yesterday.
A total number of about 850 children were administered pulse polio drops in these areas.
