Under the MCA programme 22 Assam Rifles has dedicated a modern Vocational Training Centre (VTC) to women folk of Senapati district yesterday with the Queen of Maram Khullen village, Apai Hinga inaugurating the centre.
The ceremony was attended amongst others, by the DC Dr Prem Singh, NPO president Dailli, members of Naga Women's Union (NWUM), SDSA, ANSAM, SKAWWA, Senapati District Women's Assn (SDWA) and various other social organizations of the district.
The VTC being the first of its kind involving generous cooperation and contribution from 22 AR, Dist Administration, Women's Association, local NGOs and the spirited individuals from the civil society is being seen as a trail blazing precedent worthy of emulation for all future MCA programmes, said an SDWA release.
The felicitation programme was held at the town hall.
Speaking at the ceremony, SDWA president Mrs Elizabeth thanked 22 AR, DC, NGOs and others for making it the 'best of its kind' Activity Centre in Senapati.
