About 100 dogs were vaccinated against rabies by the Chanam Sandrok Gamma Ray Club and Thiyam Konjin Young Star Club under the aegis of Keirao Makting Veterinary Dispensary yesterday at Thiyam Konjin, informed a press release issued by the Young Star Club.
ARV's were also administered to 450 canines today at six different localities under Thoubal Leishangthem Gram Panchayat by the local clubs with the help of the State Veterinary Dept.
At Kangchup Chiru village too, a vaccination programme of dogs and cows was organised by the Kangchup Chiru Youth Club in collaboration with the Veterinary Section of the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council yesterday, informed the club.
In all, 93 dogs and 257 cows were vaccinated, it added.
A mobile vaccination programme organised by the Friends' Sporting Union, Thiyam Leishangkhong in association with Wangoi Veterinary Unit undertook vaccination of about 50 dogs at Yumnam Huidrom, Thiyam Leishangkhong and Wangoi Thiyam Leikai, it informed.
The Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Unit of the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, in a press statement informed of a mobile anti-rabies vaccination team arranged by the Unit while informing that vaccination would be conducted free of cost.
It also disclosed that ARVs are now available at veterinary dispensaries of the District Council.
On the other hand, a three day free mobile anti-rabies vaccination campaign organised by the Manipur Chemists and Drug-gists Association concluded today.
A statement issued by the association informed that on the concluding day today, vaccinations were conducted at Haoreibi, Shamurou, Oinam, Sawombung, Naorem, Sagolband, Shamushang, Bamon Leikai and others.
During the three day campaign, more than 1570 canines have been vaccinated.
It also appealed to all pet dog owners to come to its office at BT road for free anti-rabies vaccination if their pets are not vaccinated yet.
