The Nationalist Congress Party president Sharad Pawar has dissolved the existing Legislative Committee of the State unit of the NCP and re-constituted the same with former Chief Minister Radhabinod Koijam as the president.
Informing this to media persons at the Manipur Press Club today, vice president of the party and spokesperson N Radhakanta said that the reconstitution was effected with an eye on the upcoming general election where the NCP will work to gain absolute majority.
Even if the NCP fails to achieve absolute majority, efforts will be made to ensure that the next Govt is a NCP led regime, added Radhakanta.
Former State unit president V Hangkhanlian has been appointed as one of the two ex-officio members, the other being S Tiken Singh.
The newly constituted body has five vice presidents, seven general secretaries, one treasurer, four secretaries two spokespersons and eight members including former MP Holkhomang Haokip.
