Aizaw, January 21 (NEPS): Thirty-year-old C Remsiama, son of Lalduhawma, hailing from Kolasib Project veng, has been nabbed by police from somewhere in Kolasib on Tuesday.

He allegedly raped a nine-year-old class IV girl of Dawrpui Primary School on January 14 afternoon.

The man allegedly took the girl from her school and rode away in a scooter and returned her later after committing the brutal act, according to earlier reports.

The accused is a 1st MAP Constable who is on suspension, police said.

In 2002, he had shot his friend with a G-3 rifle, but fortunately missed him due to another friend�s intervention while he was posted at Sakawrdai MAP Post, police sources said.
