The two-day National seminar on �Developmental challenges and employment generation in North East� held at the centenary hall of Manipur University concluded today.
Former chairman of International Airport Authority of India Prof NK Singh who attended the valedictory function as chief guest presented the action agenda of the seminar.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof NK Singh emphasised on joint efforts of the Govt and the people to put into action the agenda and other points raised by various resource persons during the seminar.
In all 18 resource persons presented papers related to various developmental aspects which need special attention in the North East during the academic session of the two-day long seminar.
The seminar also deliberated on the 11-points raised by Governor Dr SS Sidhu yesterday.
Alluding to the points raised by the Governor, Prof NK Singh noted that although development of tourism industries in the State is of paramount importance, there are many hurdles.
Nonetheless, he expressed desire that the people ensure such hurdles do not impede tourism potential of the State.
It is learnt that recommendations of the seminar would be documented and forwarded to the State Governments concerned of all the North Eastern States within a week.
The University�s Vice Chancellor Prof N Bijoy who presided over the valedictory function observed that organising such a seminar is akin to preparing action plan towards ensuring job guarantee to the present as well as for the future generations to come.
