Imphal, February 13: Senapati District Students� Association (SDSA) has called off its proposed economic blockade along National Highway 39 following an amicable solution arrived between the apex students� body of the district and the Manipur Fire Service Department, an Association statement informed today.

Setting a deadline to the Government, the students� body had earlier resolved to impose the blockade if the demand for installing a fire service station in the district headquarters within February 18 is not fulfilled.

A joint meeting of the representatives of the student�s body and the Director of Manipur Fire Service Department was held on February 9 at the office chamber of the latter to resolve the matter.

Accordingly, a team of Fire Service personnel headed by OC Kh Babun Singh arrived at the district headquarters along with a mini-water tender (vehicle) today.
