A medical camp was organized by the Army at Jakuradhar village in Bekra region on 07 and 08 Nov 2005.The medical camp in the area was organized to provide medical aid to the local populace.
A medical team consisting of seven doctors including a medical specialist, dentist and a lady doctor along with approximately 20 para medics from the Army camped in the area for two days to conduct the camp.
Approximately 2500 people were provided on the spot treatment and medical advice.
Free medicines and minor surgery were required were provided.
The old and elderly were also provided with spectacles free of cost.
The camp especially for the old has brought in a ray of light both in the philosophical and literal sense into the lives of these people.
The majority of patient treated suffered from malaria, gastroenteritis, cataracts, anemia, respiratory infection and general weakness.
A medical camp on the same scale is also being planned in Chota Bekra area in the near future.
Earlier the Army had provided financial and medical help to a young woman named Rabika who was admitted at Jiribam hospital on 03 Nov 2005 , with complication immediately after delivery.
