Boys hostel opened at Leimakhong

Imphal, September 29: 3 Corps GOC, Lt Gen RK Loomba in a simple function held at Leimakhong inaugurated a boys hostel, DISHA today.

The hostel was established to help selected bright children of the State in realizing their full potential.

Complimenting GOC of 57 Mountain Division Maj Gen TS Handa and his team for this unique effort which is a first of its kind in Manipur, Gen Loomba said that in DISHA, children with potential from the weaker sections of society would be given a platform to excel in life.

As it is evident from the performance exhibited in various sports, the children of Manipur are disciplined, committed and hard working.

They do well academically also when provided with right environment, he added.

The hostel was established under supervision of Gen VK Singh and gave a concrete shape by Red Shield Division.

The hostel now provides free accommodation to ten children.
