Imphal, September 28: Based on specific information , troops of 21 AR of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched operation in Wapokpi today and apprehended one UNLF cadre identified as Sagolsem Ibochouba Meitei alias Sunder (20) of Wapokpi.

The individual has been handed over to Kakching PS , informed an AR PRO release.

In another incident, troops of 24 AR launched operation in general area Ward No 6 on 27 Sep 2007.As the column was approaching Ward No 6, leading scout spotted a person carrying a pistol.

On seeing the security forces the individual started running away but was chased by the troops and apprehended from Ward No 7, Moreh.

The individual was later identified as PREPAK SS Lt M Romeo (40) of Khongman.

One X Point 32mm Pistol with a magazine and 2 live rounds were recovered from the apprehendee.

The individual alongwith recovered items has been handed over to Imphal West Police Station.

On the other hand, an RPF/PLA activists identified as Md Alauddin alias Ithen alias Ken (34) of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai Khongnang Makhong has been arrested by Imphal West district police commandos from near Langol Road crossing in Lamphel area this evening.

According to a statement of SP (IW) Clay Khongsai, Alauddin disclosed of joining the outfit in July, 1993 through one S/S captain Leishemba and underwent military training in Damai of Bangladesh.

The apprehendee's Army No is said be 0667 of the RPF/PLA's 10th batch.
