26 Sector celebrates R-Day in Chandel

Imphal, January 28 2010: The 26 Sector of Hq IGAR (S) celebrated the 61st Republic Day in Chandel district, according to an IGAR (S) release.

The events started with hoisting of Tricolor at Pallel.

Brig SK Bhanot, Commander, 26 Sector complimented all ranks of 26 Sector for keeping insurgency situation in Chandel in control.

The operational commitment of troops has ensured progress in various fields in remote areas of Chandel district bordering Myanmar.

He exhorted them to continue the domination and assist locals for development in Chandel district.

Locals participated with full zeal and enthusiasm in Republic Day celebrations at Chandel, Tengnoupal, Moreh, Sehlon, Tuitong, Joupi, Moltuk and Sajik Tampak, it stated.

Waving of tricolor and saluting the National Flag without fear by the locals were a mission accomplished by 26 Sector to ensure end of militancy and provide impetus to development in Chandel district, the IGAR statement added.
