Imphal, April 26: Five voluntary organisations of Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai have strongly protested the decision of the State Government to transfer the SDPO of Imphal West police N Manimohan as the AC of 1st MR while the said officer is in the midst of investigating the looting cases conducted by hooded men.

The five organisations include the Social Development Organisation, Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai, New Age Club, Thangjam Leikai, Social Recreation Organisation of Youth, Waikhom Leikai Athletic Club and Singjamei Makha Meira Paibi Apunba Lup.

Reacting to the transfer order of the said police officer a meeting of the five organisations was held today at 3.30 pm at the Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai Mandap with S Chandani Devi as the chairperson.

Three resolutions were adopted during the meeting.

The resolutions included, condemning the transfer order of Manitombi during the course of the investigation conducted into the cases of looting by masked men, to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister in connection with the matter and to form a JAC and take up further course of action if their demand not to transfer the officer during the course of the investigation is not met.
