Imphal, December 24: Taking strong exception to the murder attempt on P Labango on December 20, a sit-in-protest was staged today at Khamnam Bazar under the aegis of the Sagolband Khamnam Leirak Apunba Meira Paibi Lup.

A statement issued by the Lup asserted that harassing media persons was tantamount to harassing the entire Manipuri society.

Taking serious note of the frequent attacks on media persons including the recent severe assault on two journalists of the Matamgi Yakairol, the Meira Paibi Lup asked the attackers to clarify to the public the reason behind their despicable acts.

It also appealed to all concerned not to repeat such acts in future.

Likewise, the Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) has raised strong voice of condemnation against the murder attempt on P Labango.

It also appealed to all concerned not to launch any assault on media persons ever again.
