Delhi/Dimapur, December 22:
Cheers and threats have greeted the proposed home-coming programme of NSCN-IM general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah.
Even as 15 buses loaded with well-wishers thronged the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on the chilly night of Wednesday to welcome the NSCN-IM leader, back home in Nagaland, the rival NSCN faction led by SS Khaplang has pledged to eliminate Th Muivah the moment he lands on the soil of Nagaland.
However, reports said that Th Muivah will be celebrating Christmas in New Delhi itself.
Reliable sources further disclosed that no appointment has been given to anyone to meet the NSCN-IM general secretary till date and added that only after Christmas, Thuingaleng Muivah will start meeting the people.
Elaborate arrangements and Christmas decorations have been made at Lodhi Estate in New Delhi where Th Muivah has been put up for the celebration.
On the other hand, the Khaplang faction of the NSCN has disclosed that about 70 of its marksmen have been deployed in and around Dimapur to finish-off Thuingaleng Muivah while the NSCN-IM has dismissed the Khaplang faction as only newspaper tigers.
However, both the NSCN factions accused each other as the Indian ally.
The NSCN-IM has said that the Khaplang faction is that of the mouthpiece of the Indian government while the NSCN-K has alleged that Thuingaleng Muivah is coming to Nagaland with the help of the Indian security forces.
Meanwhile, the NSCN-IM has pulled up its socks while taking up intensive security measures in and around Dimapur in the wake of the proposed coming of the NSCN-IM leader to Nagaland in a few days time.
The tightening security measures have doing so all the more following the threat from the rival NSCN-K to eliminate the NSCN-IM general secretary.
All have not been well in Nagaland law and order scenerio since the month of August this year following the Quit Notice served on the Tangkhuls by the NSCN-K from Nagaland.
Factional killings have been going on as recent as two days back between the NSCN-K and the NSCN-IM.
