Lamka, May 22:
Kuki Cultural Festival Committee today applauds the various dignitaries and public leaders who have graced their two day cultural carnival at Molnom claiming 'the first ever Kuki cultural festival,' a success.
During the carnival 17 cultural troupes including 5 from Manipur and one from Mizoram presented more than 24 dances.
Two 'Raj Gong Dakpi' and copious number of 'Goshem' were presented to attending dignitaries and traditional 'Sa aw' was used to garland them, said the committee.
The carnival, although short in releasing a commemorative souvenir on the event will soon publish 'Chibai 21st Century' to mark the occasion and more than Rs 3 lakhs was spend to host the occasion.
The festival committee, despite its claim of accomplishing its theme of 'peace, integrity and equality' doesn't shy away from showing its annoyance on strike, bandh and blockade calls during the festivity inspite of its verbal and written appeal.
