Imphal, September 19: Acting on confirmed intelligence inputs, troops of 47 Mountain Division and a team of Assam Police deployed in Mahur township of NC Hills district in South Assam, 45 kgs of explosives were seized from a bus moving from Haflong to Laisong at Mahur yesterday, informed a PIB (DW) release.

The seized materials included 217 electronic detonators, 257 non-electronic detonators, 317 gelatin sticks and 28 meter fuse wire.

Three persons have also been arrested in connection.

Initial investigations and unconfirmed reports indicate that the explosives were being smuggled from Mizoram to Upper Assam for the 28th Bn of ULFA, added the release.
