Imphal, May 17:
The Transporters' and Drivers' Council has raised strong objection to the decision of the Government to shift the DTO Office, Imphal West and Imphal East including the office of the Directorate of Transport at MSRTC complex Moirangkhom and MSRTC office, Mantripukhri.
A memorandum submitted to the Minister of Transport remarked that Office of the District Transport Officer, Imphal West is one of the top revenue earning office in the State.
Shifting of the office to non-security zone at Moirangkhom shall cause hindrance to the collection of vehicle taxes, it asserted.
On the other hand, the move of the State Government to relocate the State Bank of India at the existing office complex of the District Transport Officer and the Directorate of Transport office is highly illogical, it alleged.
The Council through its memorandum, demanded that the decision of the Government to shift the DTO office, Imphal West and Imphal East including the office of the Directorate of Transport at MSRTC complex Moirangkhom and at MSRTC office, Mantripukhri.
