The two day blood donation camp in connection with the forthcoming observation of 23rd International AIDS Candlelight Memorial Day on May 21 concluded today at RIMS Blood Bank.
The camp organised by Manipur Network of Positive People under the aegis of Blood Bank, RIMS was inaugurated by Health Minister DK Korungthang yesterday.
In his brief remark the Minister exhorted the HIV/AIDS infected persons to work with sincerity and dedication in eradicating the ills of substance abuse and its affect.
As large section of the general public are yet to fully aware of the deadly disease, contribution of the affected people in creating mass awareness is inevitable in checking spread of the virus, he observed.
Comparing sanctity of hospitals more than equal to that of religious places, the Health Minister expressed strong resentment at patients� party lack of contribution and initiative in keeping hospitals in a hygienic manner.
