Citizens' Club celebrates 67th foundation day

Imphal, September 16 2025: The 67th foundation day of Citizens' Club, Soibam Leikai was held today with the inauguration of an extension building of the Club donated by Chingshubam Ashok Meetei, MD, Meetei Construction Pvt Ltd .

The event held at Citizens' Club was attended by Thangjam Arunkumar, MLA Wangkhei AC as the chief guest; Naorem Mahendra Meitei, president, Citizens' Club as the functional president and Chingshubam Ashok Meetei; RK Gokulchandra, chairman, Peace Committee Wangkhei Kendra and president of WAL United Youth Club; Imtiaz Hussain, president, MHSWU Hatta Minuthong and Th Nagendra, president, New Checkon Youth Club as the guests of honour.

At the event, former presidents and secretaries of the Club were presented with simple gifts as a mark of honour.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Thangjam Arunkumar conveyed his best wishes to Citizens' Club at its 67th foundation day celebration.

He also lauded Chingshubam Ashok Meetei from the locality for donating the extension building.

He highlighted the contribution of the Club in sports and social issues and further commended the unity between the Club and the people of the area.

Meanwhile, Naorem Mahendra said that Citizens' Club has made great progress in the field of sports in the last 67 years.

Saying that the Club has produced many notable sports personalities and worked relentlessly in State issues, he sought the public's support in all its endeavours.
