The NSCN (I-M) today accused rival NSCN (K) of killing a man in a landmine blast at Athibung yesterday, reports NNN.
Condemning the incident, a statement issued by the MIP of NSCN (I-M) alleged that on January 14, one Tongmang (30), son of Letlam, died in a landmine blast, planted by the NSCN (K) in collaboration with the Manipur People's Army (MPA) at Athibung.
The NSCN (I-M) said following its signing the deed of agreement to ban usage of all anti-personnnel landmines in response to the Geneva Call, it had never used and intended to use landmines.
The faction alleged the MPA in collaboration with the NSCN (K) had ranged an "anti-Naga campaign" by planting landmines at Naga populated areas and "victimizing innocent Naga public and domestic animals".
Giving an account of a few incidents of landmine explosions, it alleged the "adversaries" continued to rage their "terrorist" designs by planting bombs at Mandeu and Khandihang villages in Tamenglong district.
It alleged in one of such explosions, two persons including a woman and a woman were badly injured and a cow was killed at Tausem sub-division in Manipur.
Again, the NSCN (I-M) alleged a minor was killed in a landmine blast at Bishenpur School building and several innocent public were injured and a cow was killed in another blast planted by the rivals at Longpi High School.
Continuing with the allegations, the NSCN (I-M) said the foothills of Ukhrul district and western "Nagalim" had also come under the grip of such explosions triggered by the "antagonists".
The NSCN (I-M) appealed to all right-thinking people to condemn such "senseless" acts in the strongest of terms so that the lives of he innocent could be saved from such "brutality".
