Imphal, December 10: Even as the Jiribam District Demand Committee had made it known that they would intensify the agitation until and unless the SPF Govt announces the upgradation of the sub-division to a full fledged revenue district, a reliable source informed that the blockade on NH-53 may be eased keeping in mind the upcoming Christmas festival.

The JDDC, among other agitations, had also blocked NH-53 which had started to pinch the people of Tamenglong district.

However there is no official confirmation from JDDC in this connection.

The source said that the blockade may be eased to let the people of Tamenglong celebrate Christmas.
