The weeklong celebration of DESAM's fifth foundation anniversary cum third general conference 2007 concluded at SK Women's College, Nambol yesterday.
Apart from numerous resource persons emphasising on effective role of students in preventing the society from plunging into deep morass and conduct of social services at Khwairamband and Nambol bazar today, the session was also marked with interaction and knowledge sharing among the student participants.
All together 800 delegates from within and outside the State took part in the weeklong programme, said a DESAM release.
To strengthen the student body and for effectiveness of its functions the DESAM set-up was expanded with the inclusion of 55 more executive members, it said and added that a five point resolution was also adopted at the end of the session.
Among others, the Nambol resolutions endorsed decisions taken in the previous session at Thoubal, impressing upon authorities concerned for sustaining conducive atmosphere for quality education, regular conduct of social service campaign, constant donation of blood to assist the needy starting from February month and mass education/awareness campaigns on HIV/AIDS.
