The Hill Tribal Council, Moreh has decried the failure of the authority concerned to pay compensation to the land owners affected by the proposed construction of Integrated Check Post at Moreh.
In a memorandum submitted to the Commissioner (Commerce and Industry), the Hill Tribal Council lamented that repeated promises made by visiting officials from New Delhi to pay compensation to land owners affected by the Integrated Check post has not materialised yet.
Even as Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Border Management, Sada Kant stated that everything have been finished to compensate the affected pattadars during his visit to Moreh on September 14, no pattadar has been compensated as yet.
The Hill Tribal Council has learnt that a central official team is visiting Moreh on November 9 in connection with construction of the Integrated Check Post, it conveyed while asking the central team to come alongwith sanction order for compensation.
The HTC would be ready to meet the team only if they come along with sanction order else the team would not be allowed to visit the proposed site, it added.
