Imphal, August 07: A book on Poumai folk tales titled "Daomai Koh" and authored/compiled by Mrs Heshoru Dio was released on July 29 at the writer's Purul Atongba village residence by the chief guest of the occasion Th Ngaopunii, president of Purul Union.

In his address during the book release programme attended by youth leaders, village authority members, church leaders and well wishers, Ngaopunii lauded the benevolent work of Heshoru and expressed elation that the book will provide knowledge of the past glory of the Poumais, said a late release.

Heshoru, born in 1935, and a retired school teacher is informed to be the first Poumai woman employee who took keen interest in upliftment of the Poumais' educational and social status.

Daomai Koh is a collection of Poumai folk tales containing 43 stories.
