Guwahati, February 07: Dismissing the claims of the proscribed UNLF, the PIB (Defence Wing) today said that a logistic convoy of AR unit was fired upon between Holenjang and Hengshi in which one jawan, Signalman RD Rawat was injured.

Following the retaliation by the troops, the UNLF cadres fled, leaving behind two IEDs, said PIB in a statement and added that IEDs were destroyed in-situ.

The condition of Rawat is stable, it added.

The UNLF is trying to boost the sagging morale of its cadres by making tall claims, asserted PIB and added that AR or the SF have never hidden facts about their casualty.

UNLF had claimed that 6 personnel were killed in the attack.
