Captivating performances by a 15 member troupe of the Manipuri Jagoi Marup have delighted the audience of Japan in 17 different cities of the country including Tokyo.
The troupe toured the Japanese cities and presented their unique art forms as a part of the Festival of India organised in connection with the India-Japan Friendship Year 2007 from May 3 to June 29, informed a press release issued by the Manipuri Jagoi Marup.
The troupe led by RK Sanahanbi presented the famous Manipuri Ras Dance, Maibi Jagoi, Manipuri Classical Solo Dance, Manipuri Martial Arts, Dol Chollom, Pung Chollom and lecture cum demonstration.
The captivating performance of the troupe won great applause in very Japanese city where they performed.
The troupe was invited by the Japanese Government and coordinated by NPO Society to promote Indo-Japan cultural relations.
