Imphal, February 01: In connection with the ongoing drive of Committee on Anti-Drugs and Alcohol, volunteers of UPF�s Khordak and Arong Khunou councils apprehended three persons today and seized alcohol, alcohol brewing materials and tobacco products from them, informed a CADA release.

The apprehended persons have been identified as ningthoujam Ingocha (40) s/o N Tomba of Khordak Thong Makha, Ningthoujam Bino Devi (30) w/o N Kumar of Khordak Thong Awang and Salam Kumar Singh (50) of Khordak Awang Leikai.

Informing that the three had been handed over to their respective family elders after reprimanding them to refrain such indulgence in such anti-social activities, CADA also asked 3 individuals to surrender to its head office within February 3 without fail.

The trio asked to surrender are Ningthoujam Ibochou s/o N Tomba of Heirangoithong Makha Leikai, Ng Gopal Singh of Heirangoithong Makha Leikai and Paonam Bobo Singh of Ayangpalli Road.

Meanwhile, volunteers of AMADA�s Sendra unit apprehended 7 persons and seized 1020 litres of country liquor from their possession during a drive conducted at Sendra, Moirang and Ething areas on January 24, 26 and 27 respectively.

The apprehended persons are identified as Moirangthem Thabung (32) s/o (L) M Mani of Sendra Leikai, Oinam (O) Premila Leima (32) w/o O Chaoba Meetei of Moirang Kumam, Salam (O) Meena Leima (32) w/o S Ibomcha Meetei of Moirang Kumam, Pukhrambam (O) Memcha Leima (46) w/o P Ningthouba Meetei of Ething, Moirangthem (O) Bina Leima (34) w/o M Ningthem Meetei of Ething, Moirangthem Thoi Leima (37) w/o M Kumar Meetei of Ething and Moirangthem Lakpati Meetei (38) s/o (L) M Chandramani Meetei of Ething.

While the apprehended persons have been handed over to their respective family members, the seized liquors were destroyed at Sendra Kangjeibung on January 30, added an AMADA release.
