Tamenglong, March 03:
With a sigh of relief the Zeliangrong Union of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland today appreciated the IT Road Development Committee, Kuki Students Organisation, Sardar Hills and Zeliangrong Students Union of Tamei Area for taking the initiative while trying to improve the condition of IT Road which has been neglected for decades.
ZUAMN president Dinkambui said that it has been very encouraging to see the Kuki students and the Zeliangrong students putting their efforts together in order to bring development in the area.
Dinkambui further said that if we continue to work in this manner then besides the development of IT Road there would be progress in all respects.
He said that the Zeliangrong people today express their appreciations and thanks to the IT Road Development Committee, Kuki Students Organisation of Sardar Hills and the Zeliangrong Students Union of Tamei Area.
Recalling the plight of the people who have been depending on the IT Road, the ZU president said that IT Road falls under three/four assembly constituencies but for the last several years past and present MLAs/ministers had failed to improve the pathetic condition of the IT Road.
Mention may be made that the Zeliangrong Students Union of Tamei Area and the Kuki Students Organisation had initiated to form the IT Road Development Committee in which Wilubou Newmai and Sekhokai Kipgen had been appointed as committee chairman and its secretary respectively.
The IT Road Development Committee had announced to call indefinite economic along the national highway 39 and NH-53 from February 24 onwards but had to be called off following an agreement reached during the two hour bombarding meeting between the Chief Minister's team and the agitating committee.
