Aizawl, January 21(NEPS):
The first Indian rock band with an international release and the first Indian band to be nominated for the Grammy Awards as well as the first band to inspire a big Bollywood production is now coming to the city.
And its not a dream.
Come January 24, the Mumbai-based Pralay will rock the music-loving city at the A R Ground.
After a halt in Guwahati, they are expected to arrive soon, organisers Studio Grace said.
Pralay appeared in the Indian rock scene as way back as the early 90s.It had then Luke Kenny as the vocalist.
After Luke and Shivli left, Eddie and Adam Avil went on, getting new members.
The bands name was changed four years back.
Pralay has already released their debut album Urban Reality through the Chicago-based Sonic Wave International.
This enabled them to get shortlisted for the Grammy Awards in the World Music Category.
Interestingly, Anurag Kashyaps film Paanch was inspired by the bands story struggle for survival.
The band had built close intimacy with the N.E people as early as the 90s when they toured the region.
Its not a matter of money, we love playing to fans who really appreciate our music, said Adam Avil, the bands frontman.
