JNMDA stir threat: demanding timely official procedure on matters concerning affiliation of JNM Dance Academy and Government Dance College to Manipur University Federation of Indigenous Martial Arts and Culture Students (Fimacs) threatened to launch various forms of agitation in case of negligence.
Speaking to news persons at the Academy premise today Fimacs president Arambam Tongdang Luwang demanded that officials concerned of the two institutes prepare and submit relevant affiliation documents and Govt reciprocate positively within Augt 3 failing which the body would be constrained to launch agitation.
He argued that ever since establishment of the two institutes around 1954 to impart lessons on traditional dance and cultural items and issuance of relevant certificates the documents are useless as these institutes are bereft of official recognition.
Access to premier institutes like Shantiniketan for further studies in the chosen field are denied as documents issued by unrecognised institutions are not entertained, Luwang added and pointed out that affiliation to MU could address admission problems faced by State candidates.
Affiliation to MU and providing standard syllabi would ensure a level playing field for the States culture enthusiasts who could subsequently satisfy their aspiration, the Fimacs president observed.
