Imphal, November 20:
The All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers' Welfare Association has urged the state Government to be fair and just regarding the appointment of graduate and other teachers.
In a statement issued by the Association, it expressed optimism that this appointment would make up to a certain extent shortage of teachers in the Education Department.
It further cautioned that corruption and unfair appointment of teachers would be a death blow to the ever deteriorating society of Manipur while referring to the recent opinion poll conducted by AIR Imphal whereby every five persons out of six opined that corruption has been the greatest menace engulfing the State.
Quoting Education Minister Francis Ngajokpa "Our education system has many fallacies; it needs amendment", it further remarked that it's high time to amend the policy starting with the coming appointment of teachers.
