As in previous years, the Family of Enforced Disappearance Association would be observing the International Week of the Disappeared from May 26 to 31.Visiting the families of those whose fate have not been known after being picked up by security forces from respective houses and paying homage to them would be the main highlights of the observance.
On the first day of the week-long observance on May 26, visit would be paid to two families at Huining in Ukhrul district and another family at the district headquarters to understand the problems and difficulties being faced by the remaining family members after the responsible member of the family did not return home after being picked up by the security forces.
The Association would also held discussion with the family members on necessary legal assistance that could be sought for justice.
On May 27, similar visits would paid at Pukhao, Pungdongbam, Kairang and Thangmeiband, on May 28 at CCpur, Iroisemba, Kwakeithel and Khongman, on May 29 at Kakching Khunou and Angtha and on May 30 at Sagang and Chandel.
After all these visits, the main function of the observance would be held on May 31 to pay homage to all the disappeared persons.
