Imphal, April 22: A youth of about 29 years old has been over-powered and handed over to Sekmai police station for trying to hijack a Maruti car near Sekmai Koujengleima yesterday, claimed Advance Women Society, Awang Sekmai.

The youth identified as Laishram Tiken Singh s/o L Budhichandra of Kwakeithel Akham Leikai posed as police commando and thrashed some civilians, including women folk before attempting to flee from the scene in the hijacked vehicle, maintained the women body.

On being checked the miscreant was found possessing a toy gun used in intimating the public, it informed and warned all concerned of stringent action if found indulging in such unwanted activities in future in Sekmai area.
