FGN/NNC clarifies on abduction

Imphal, September 19: The FGN/NNC has refuted any involvement in the abduction and subsequent release of one Ningthoujam Sunil of Bashikhong Kongba Irong who is contesting in the Panchayat elections.

Sunil was abducted by some armed persons who identified themselves as NNC activists on September 15 and later released on September 18.A press release issued by FGN Zeliangrong region Information and Publicity secretary Poukhin also warned the impostors to surrender themselves to the outfit within five days failing which strong action will be initiated against them.

The outfit also appealed to the public and others to investigate and help in identifying the impostors.
