Imphal, August 18: The Gorkha Welfare Youth Club Motbung, Gorkha Mahila Samiti Motbung and All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (Motbung unit) have strongly condemned the rape attempt and subsequent killing of 14 year old girl Manju Chhetry at Khatumai village in Senapati district on August 17, conveyed a release.

Terming it a heinous crime, the Gorkha bodies demanded that the culprit be given befitting punishment and justice delivered.

The North East Dialogue Forum has also condemned the killing of the girl.

It remarked that killing of the innocent girl is a crime against humanity.

Meanwhile, MP Mani Charenamei has conveyed deep anguish and pain at the senseless and inhuman killing of Manju Chhetry by one Ningthou Liangmai on August 16.The MP also extended condolence to the bereaved family and prayed that God may provide them with strength and guidance at this hour of deep sorrow.
