Imphal, May 15:
Furious with the inability of the State Government to find a clue of the whereabouts of SI N Kumar even after two months of abduction, the JAC Against the Kidnapping of Nongthombam Kumar has turned their wrath on the State.
A statement issued by the JAC has questioned on the investigation progress made by the Home Department so far in connection with the issue.
It asked as to what has been done by the State to solve the abduction case of Kumar.
It further mulled of resorting to lie detecting machine to ascertain the authenticity of the statements given by Ranibala, the prime accused in the case.
The JAC also came down heavily on the failure of the State as well as the insurgent groups despite having their own powerful intelligence networks to deliver justice in the case of Kumar.
It conveyed of strong apprehension on the abject failure of both the parties to control the criminal activities perpetrated by some gangs in the State.
Declaring that the JAC has no more trust in the State machinery, it demanded that the case be handed over to a competent investigating agency.
Conveying of strong suspicion of some security personnel and UG cadres being a party of the gang responsible for abduction of Kumar, it appealed to all insurgent groups to help in removing such suspicions from the minds of people.
Elucidating its point, the JAC contended that the successful confinement of SI Kumar for two months after being abducted from the high security zone of Major Khul, MLAs quarters on the one hand and the inability of all major insurgent groups of the State to deliver justice even though they were successful in several cases earlier are clear indications of some State elements being involved in the issue.
Confiding all their trust on the insurgent groups, the JAC appealed to the UGs to hunt down the culprits and solve the issue for once and all so as to remove all apprehensions of the people and to put their restless minds to rest.
Maintaining that the JAC would go on with its stir to picket Government offices and vehicles, it appealed to all unions of State employees to lend support to the ongoing stir.
