RKL condemns fund swindling

Imphal, June 14: Taking strong exception to the fraudulent practice of withdrawing public money without executing due development works, the Raphei Katamnao Long (RKL) has strongly condemned such swindling of public money.

A press release issued by the RKL remarked that the withdrawal of about 70 percent of the total cost sanctioned for development of Lunghar-Khamasom-Poi-Chingai road after completing just 20 percent of the work is a clear case of day light robbery.

Asserting that such swindling of public money is possible because of the nexus existing between contractors and the authority concerned (PWD), it appealed to the authority concerned to speed up implementation f all such development programmes meant for the welfare of the common people.

The RKL further cautioned that it would not hesitate to launch massive public campaign and agitation to bring justice if the authority or the State Government fails to act promptly.
