Imphal, May 14 2009: Security forces have apprehended 11 persons including a Rifleman of 3rd IRB on the charges of being members of banned armed organisations from different places of the State since the past days.

Of the 11 arrestees, Imphal East Police Commandos nabbed two KCP activist identified as Puthem Boy Meitei alias Boynao (20) s/o late P Prem Meitei of Moreh Ward No.2 and Deepu Saikia (24) s/o Gupon Saikia of Madhavpur Titabor, Jorhat district, Assam from New Checkon at around 11.30 am today.

According to a statement issued SP of Imphal East District Th Radheshyam Singh, one 9 mm pistol with three live rounds of ammunition in the magazine and two demand letters of the outfit were recovered from the possession of Puthem Boy.

On verification, they reportedly disclosed of joining the KCP organisation in February, 2009 through one Kiran of KCP.

In continuation of the counter-insurgency operation, troops of 28 and 34 Assam Rifles rounded up a PULF (MI) cadre identified as Md Mushatfim (19) s/o (L) Nizamuddin of Lilong Haoreibi from the same locality where the troops launched search operation on May 13 evening.

In a statement issued today, PRO IGAR (S) informed of the troops recovering one Kinetic Honda (MN05/B1637) and a wallet with Rs 50 from the possession of Mushatfim, who has been handed over to Lilong PS at around 6.30 pm.

Two PREPAK cadres have also been arrested by AR troops of the same units from Maching Pat area at around 7 am today, according to the PRO's statement that identified the captive duo as Pvt (Army No 33801) Puthem Nabhachander alias Torobot (30) s/o P Modu of Andro Chingdon Leikai and Pvt (32806) Hijam Shyam alias Jeevan (30) s/o H Amu of Andro Litan Piphan.

Both have been handed over to Yairipok police station an hour later.

On the other hand, a combined force of Imphal East Police Commandos and personnel of 28 Assam Rifles arrested three KYKL cadres identified as K Surjit Singh (45) of Wangkhei, Pebam Ibotombi alias Tondon Singh (27) s/o P Tomba Singh of Heirangoithong Jaganath Achouba and Thoudam Tomba alias Herojit Singh (21) s/o Th Thambaljao Singh of Heirangoithong Maibam Leikai from Kongpal Laishram Leikai at around noon yesterday.

On verification, they disclosed of joining KYKL in 2008 through one Romy of Kongba Laishram Leikai and Kumar of KYKL respectively and they were involved in extortion of money from general public and Telecom Department, etc, Imphal East SP informed in another statement.

Imphal East Police Commandos also arrested one KCP (MC) cadre identified as Atao Rahaman alias Apiki (18) s/o Md Ayajuddin of Lilong Mairel Khun from Minuthong Hatta at around 5.20 pm of May 12 .

On verification, he disclosed that he joined KCP (MC) in April this year through one Boy of KCP (MC).

On the same day at around 6.20 pm, a team of Imphal East Police Commandos arrested another cadre of KCP (MC) identified as Mutum Samo Singh (30) s/o late M Shyamjai of Nungaipokpi but staying at Khurai Chandam Leikai, New Checkon.

On verification, Samo disclosed that he joined KCP (MC) in December 2008 through one Momo of KCP (MC) and he was involved in extortion of money from Government officials, businessmen, etc as party fund.

Meanwhile, in another statement, Senior SP of Imphal West L Kailun conveyed that acting on credible infomation, Imphal West District Police Commandos arrested one KYKL activist from Paona Bazar in front of Videocon House at around 5.30 pm of May 13 .

Identifying the arrested KYKL activist as one Meinam Somorendro Singh (34) s/o late M Shyamkishore Singh of Mayang Imphal Maning Khunou, the SPP informed that on spot verification, Somorendro disclosed that he worked under one S/S Lt Prem of Waheng Khuman.

He further disclosed the he along with his associate identified as Manihar of Mayang Imphal were involved in extortion of money from shop owners of Paona Bazar and general public.

On further verification, he disclosed that he is serving as a Rifleman of 3 IRB under Rifleman no, 1194003 and presently posted at 2nd IRB Games Section, the SSP added.
