Imphal, October 12 2009: Road Side Vendors Welfare Association, Khwairamband Keithel organised a convention for street vendors at Irawat Bhavan today.

The convention resolved to press the Government to adopt Model Street vendors Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending Bill 2009 by State as well.

The meet also decided to urge the Government to issue identity cards to street vendors, not to evict them without prior notice, include place for street vendors in town planning, constitute town vending committee and hand over market sheds to street vendors after Khwairamband women vendors shift in Ima market.
