Kohima, April 11:
The Khaplang faction of the NSCN has reiterated its earlier stance with regard to the affiliation of schools in the four hill districts of Manipur to the Nagaland Board of School Education, reports NNN.
The GPRN/NSCN (K) in a statement lambasted the DAN Government headed by Neiphiu Rio, social organisations and Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) with regard to the affiliation of schools of the four hill districts of Manipur asserting that Rs 71 lakhs were spent on the the students from Manipur who appeared in the examinations under NBSE.
NSCN (K) in a statement issued by its cabinet secretary, Nitovi Aye, said that despite the explanation and justification given, the crime committed against the Nagas cannot be erased because of the affiliation issue.
The NSCN-K said that Nagaland Education Minister Imchen would be held "answerable" for he, along with the "puppet DAN Government and pseudo Naga NGOs," had gone against the several cautions and objections that were issued by the GPRN/NSCN-K in the interest of the Nagas.
Addressing the Minister, the outfit said "there will always be political changes and he cannot be always in power and that Isak (Isak Chishi Swu) and Muivah (Th Muivah) cannot enforce reign of terror in Nagaland forever." The NSCN-K statement then said since the entire Naga society is today in the web of confusion owing to the faulty policies and visions of many of the leaders, it does not want another confusion and therefore had opposed the affiliation issue from the beginning.
A separate statement issued by the secretary in-charge of the Ministry of Education, Public Relations and NGOs, NSCN (K), K Zhimomi said that it was the demand of the Nagas that NBSE immediately repay Rs 71 lakhs "spent for outsiders" to the concerned department.
Zhimomi claimed the amount was spent without adjustment from other provisions.
Maintaining that any Govt or political party should be people-mandated and not factionmandated, Zhimomi castigated opposition Congress in the State for being too weak to give advantages to the ruling party.
The NSCN (K) leader further ridiculed the NBSE for its clarification on the issue and asked it not to deny the demands of the Ministry of Education of GPRN or Ministry of Chaplee, NSCN (K); in future.
